While the new GMC Sierra 1500 comes standard with a 4-cylinder turbocharged engine or a 4.3L V6, the GMC Sierra Limited comes only with a powerful V8 engine, offering lots of torque from any RPM. The engine is a 5.3L unit offering up a stout 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission, though four-wheel drive is offered. Max payload for the Sierra is 2,137 lbs, while the max trailering load is a stout 9,400 lbs.
Inside, the Sierra has a traditional, upright instrument panel layout, with soft-touch materials and superb attention to detail. Knobs and buttons are large enough to use with gloves on, and there are two glove box compartments. As there is only one cabin size for the Sierra Classic so rear seats offer a full, SUV-sized backseat. The Sierra Limited includes an optional 40/20/40-split bench seat, power locks, cruise control, air conditioning, a tilt-adjustable steering column, and an audio system with a USB port and a 7-inch color display.
The Sierra Limited comes in two trim levels. The base Sierra and the uplevel SLE. Unlike the base Sierra 1500, The base Sierra Limited comes with chrome bumpers and a chrome grille surround, along with active aero shutters and HID projector beam headlights. It also gets an easy lift tailgate that can be optioned to lock and unlock with the key fob.
Stepping up to the SLE trim adds a bigger 8-inch infotainment screen, LED lighting for the cargo box, 17-inch machined aluminum wheels, body colored exterior mirrors, side moldings and door handles, heated side mirrors, 4G Wi-fi, GMC Connected access, HD radio, OnStar and remote keyless entry.

The GMC Sierra Limited is a new addition to the GMC lineup for 2019, however it's based heavily on last year's GMC Sierra 1500. While the Standard Sierra gets a redesign for this year, GMC have determined that the previous generation Sierra is still capable of keeping up with the newest pickup trucks as long as the correct options and equipment are specced. Since this vehicle is based on an older platform, GMC have managed to offer buyers a lot of value with the Sierra Classic. Though its base price is similar to the new Sierra 1500 that base price includes considerably more equipment as well as a more powerful engine.
The GMC Sierra Limited is all about value. It offers a similar overall truck to the standard Sierra 1500 but with a few more standard features at the low end and a much more compact trim lineup. In addition, GMC is offering considerable cash allowances to some buyers for this vehicle.
